The pedagogy promoted by La main à la pâte can be qualified as socio-constructivist. The confrontation of the child with the real (and sensitive) world is a key aspect of this "learning by doing" approach of teaching. However, it is sometimes appropriate to extend the usual inquiries (observation, experimentation…) by new ones based on IT : modeling, research of information, expression, etc.
This talk will focus on case studies (pedagogical projects implemented by La main à la pâte recently), in order to discuss the ways IT can enrich inquiry based science education
