The impact of technology on education for the hard of hearing children and their families
Hearing aids and cochlear implants enhanced by computers and their universal communication solutions have changed teaching and learning methodologies in the education and rehabilitation of deaf children.
This presentation will describe the evolution of these technologies at the Instituto Oral Modelo in Buenos Aires based on the experience of almost 60 years in the education and rehabilitation of deaf children that learn to listen, think and talk. We will also discuss new research with cochlear implants in very young children and the educational new challenges it implies.
