Technology and deaf children education, excellent partners
Since Alexander Graham Bell times, technology and education for the deaf are good partners. From hearing aids and cochlear implants to computers and their communication solutions, they made teaching methodologies evolve year by year. This presentation pretends to describe the development of this partnership up to the latest technology applied at Instituto Oral Modelo in Buenos Aires with very young students and also discusses some future trends in the matter. We will also explain the convenience of using a hearing aid or cochlear implant 24/365 and the technological new challenges it implies. All the presentation will be based on the experience of more than 50 years in the education and rehabilitation of deaf children that learn to listen, think and talk.
